Guide Dogs is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join our team on a full time permanent basis. There is also an opportunity for temp/contract if this is more suited to your lifestyle.
Key Accountabilities:
- Processing pay in compliance with the relevant awards and legislation
- Ensuring accurate payroll transactions and payments
- Preparation and payment of all tax obligations including PAYG tax, Superannuation Guarantee contributions
- Processing new employee's contracts and terminations (from a payroll perspective)
- Preparation and timely delivery of pay slips and annual payment summaries
- Liaise with ATO on any issues
- Processing payroll journals in the Finance System and reconciling certain payroll General Ledger Accounts
- Answering general payroll enquiries, including payroll system issues, salary packaging queries etc
- Working closely with HR and Finance departments
- Analysis of costings against budgets
Essential Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years employment experience in Payroll, ideally managing payroll from start to finish.
- Knowledge and experience of MicroPay.
- Knowledge of salary packaging including novated car leases.
- Ability to analyse and communicate payroll information to all levels of staff including appropriate confidentiality of personnel and payroll related data
- Advanced Microsoft Office: Excel skills
- Advanced computer literacy with knowledge of accounting software, electronic / online banking packages and spreadsheet programs.
- Highly organised - ability to manage multiple tasks and at times conflicting deadlines.
- Deadline focused
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
