Job Description

Main Duties:

  • Background research, donor data analysis and targeted marketing is used to identify potential major donors.
  • Authentic, professional and personable relationships are developed and sustained through a personalised program of communications and engagements.
  • Active solicitation of major gifts is undertaken as appropriate through written proposals, face to face meetings and email/phone asks.
  • Ongoing outstanding care and stewardship of major donors confirms the outcomes of the donation and reinforces trust in Guide Dogs.
  • Accurate records are maintained on Guide Dogs’ CRM, in collaboration with overall fundraising teams.
  • Work closely with the Philanthropy Manager to understand the strategic priorities of the Philanthropy program.
  • Effective ongoing collaboration and internal stakeholder management is achieved with other teams within Guide Dogs NSW/ACT, and Guide Dogs Australia, consultants and other suppliers to effectively manage major donor relationships and optimise opportunities and efficiencies across the organisation.

Essential Experience:

  • High emotional intelligence, coupled with exceptional and sophisticated relationship management skills.
  • Outstanding organisation and administrative skills, including ability to manage multiple relationships and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong Microsoft Office and computer skills.
  • A current driver’s licence or ability to travel independently e.g. via public transport.
  • Must be comfortable around, and able to work with, large dogs.
