SeeWay, an initiative of Guide Dogs NSW/ACT is seeking a skilled and purposeful Content Writer to join our communications team. This role will suit a creative professional who can transform real-world stories, research, and insights into compelling content that informs, engages, and inspires our audience of Australians living with low vision.

As part of our mission-driven organisation supporting people with low vision, you will uphold our values and tone of voice, ensuring all content reflects equality, inclusion, and empathy. You will work closely with the Media & Communications Manager and collaborate with the wider team to deliver content that is impactful, accurate, and on brand.

Job Description

Key Area: Content Creation 

  • A confident and versatile writer with a proven track record of producing engaging content across a variety of formats.
  • Strong comprehension skills, with the ability to translate research, interviews, and technical information into clear and accessible narratives.
  • Experienced in following brand guidelines and tone of voice.
  • Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Collaborative and receptive to feedback, with strong interpersonal skills to build effective relationships across teams, clients and industry professionals.
  • A commitment to inclusivity and a genuine interest in supporting people with low vision and related communities.

Key Area: Editorial Oversight 

  • Research, interview, and curate authentic stories and insights from clients, stakeholders and data.
  • Develop original, engaging content across multiple formats, including web, social media, newsletters, video scripts, publications, and direct campaigns.
  • Manage website content updates and contribute fresh ideas to drive reach and engagement.
  • Ensure all content is aligned with brand guidelines, values, and organisational tone.
  • Maintain accuracy, clarity, and high editorial standards through careful editing and review.
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of a story and content bank.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver content that supports strategic objectives.
  • Follow direction with efficiency and attention to detail, while bringing creativity and initiative to each project.

Key Area: Continuous Improvement

  • Establishing and maintaining quantitative and qualitative content goals to reach SeeWay team KPI’s.
  • Using data to iterate and improve content.
  • In partnership with subject matter experts, regularly reviewing existing content, to ensure it is current and achieves our goals.

Key Area: Maintain strong relationships and ensure timely information sharing

  • Strong working relationships are developed and maintained with internal stakeholders, enabling strategic and operational objectives to be met.
  • Living the organisational values in all actions in support of the purpose of SeeWay.
  • Focus on the client/stakeholder is maintained at all times.
  • Assigned responsibilities are completed and any issues are resolved within a satisfactory timeframe.
