Job Description

6 month-fixed term opportunity. Open to part-time and full time.

Purpose of the role:

  • The Business Intelligence & Reporting Officer supports the Strategic Implementation Office by delivering accurate, timely, and actionable reporting and insights. This role manages and improves executive and board dashboards, develops new strategic scorecards, and ensures reporting outputs are aligned with SIO’s strategic objectives and transformation initiatives, whilst aligning with organisational data governance frameworks and practices. The Officer collaborates closely with project support and SIO team members to provide integrated portfolio-level reporting and supports change management and communications related to new reporting tools and processes. The Officer also works collaboratively with Technology staff and BI peers within other functions to ensure data is managed consistently and accurately across the organisation.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve executive and board dashboards and the board strategic scorecard in Power BI.
  • Ensure all reporting outputs are aligned with SIO’s strategic objectives, transformation agenda, and change initiatives.
  • Provide portfolio-level reporting and analysis to support decision-making and benefits realization across the SIO.
  • Extract and manipulate data from multiple sources for reporting and analysis.
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis and rapid reporting in response to SIO needs.
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across all reporting outputs.
  • Work according to data governance frameworks by utilising managed data from GDN’s data warehouse where available 
  • Support change management activities, including communications and training related to new reporting tools, dashboards, and processes.
  • Manage the rollout and adoption of new reporting solutions across the SIO.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to enhance reporting processes, data quality, and dashboard usability.
  • Stay up to date with Power BI features and best practices, as well as other relevant data and reporting platforms.
  • Ensure all reporting activities comply with relevant data privacy, security, and governance policies.
  • Adheres and contributes to the development of standards for BI reports.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

  • Experience in developing and maintaining dashboards and reports in Power BI.
  • Strong skills in data extraction, transformation, and visualization.
  • Experience with portfolio-level reporting and benefits tracking.
  • Ability to work with data from multiple sources, including data warehouses.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting change management and communications for new tools/processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines

Desirable:

  • Experience in a not-for-profit, human services, or disability services environment.
  • Familiarity with project/portfolio management and reporting tools.
  • Understanding of board and executive reporting requirements.
  • Experience in utilising SQL to perform data work within SQL Server or within Snowflake.
