Job Description

The Product Manager is responsible for developing and implementing the services, activities, and products required for the Client Technology project. In collaboration with the GM Innovation, they will translate service design and product strategy into detailed requirements and prototypes for products which will support Client digital inclusion, grow market share and drive Client experience. Using an Agile approach they will scope, prioritize, and trial activities based on business and customer impact.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Understand and apply the Market research and agreed service framework for GDN’s Client technology approach.
  • Translate product strategy into detailed product requirements.
  • Execute all processes across product lifecycle, including prototype development, market research, product trials, planning, positioning, roadmap development and product launch. 
  • Create detailed financial and risk profiles for each product.
  • Assess current competitor offerings and seek opportunities for differentiation.
  • Develop and maintain production timelines across multiple departments to ensure on-time delivery of products and services.
  • Gain deep understanding of customer experience by running feedback sessions, identifying and filling the gaps, generating new ideas to improve customer experience and drive growth.
  • Scope and prioritise activities based on business and customer impact.
  • Drive product/service launches including working with public relations team, executives, and other product management team members.
  • Evaluate promotional plans to ensure that they are consistent with product line strategy and that the message is effectively conveyed.
  • Develop product funding options and positioning strategies.
  • Maintain an accessible and inclusive view across all products and services.
  • Builds and manages relationships of project sponsors and key stakeholder relationships across departments.
  • Develop and leverage industry/external connections to support the development of a viable customer pipeline.
  • Prepares reports – summarising and measuring performance of the entire program of project work for Manager, ELT and Board.
  • Performs post-implementation program/project reviews to determine benefits realisation and achievement of overall objectives in line with overall corporate strategy.
  • Monitoring, tracking and reporting project performance and the realisation of defined project benefits.
  • Operational support of project budgets and attaining necessary approvals in a timely manner.
  • Compliance with statutory obligations and relevant laws and regulations including ASIC and ACNC that might affect decision making.

Skills & Experience:

  • Strong experience in a product management role
  • Proven ability to manage all stages of product lifecycle from conceptualisation to launch
  • Strong co-design and customer experience focus
  • Innovative mindset
  • Skilled at working with cross-functional teams
  • Excellent internal and external stakeholder management
  • Highly developed communication and negotiation skills
