Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced Orientation & Mobility specialist to join our Client Services team in the Sydney North & Western region on a full-time basis (35 hour week) or part-time basis (21 hour week), to provide professional, evidence-based occupational therapy services to support individuals with vision impairment to develop, enhance and maintain independence in their desired activities of daily living.  

As the leading provider in Australia of guide dogs and orientation and mobility services for people with vision loss, our team has a focus on holistic services provision where our KPI’s are based on client facing hours rather than billable hours.

As a key role in a multi-disciplinary team of experts, you will deliver programs in client homes or community locations which will involve driving around the Sydney Metro region to support your clients.  

Key knowledge & experience:

  • Tertiary qualification in Orientation & Mobility, and current registration with AHPRA
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with clients and others
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills with an ability to be flexible to adapt to varying workloads and caseload demands
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team, ensuring that performance targets are met 
  • Attention to detail and skills in analysis, planning and problem solving
  • Sound skills in utilising computer applications and modern technology
  • A current unrestricted drivers' licence and good driving record
  • Willingness to obtain a Working With Children Check and NDIS Worker check
  • A knowledge of local community support services, NDIS and/or My Aged Care will be highly desirable but not essential.
