Job Description

This role will focus on management of the General Ledger in order to provide accurate data for the financial reporting/budgeting needs of the business. This role will cover three companies: Guide Dogs Australia, Guide Dogs NSW/ACT and Centre for Eye Health. 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Meeting the End of Month Close by COB Day 4
  • Managing the General Ledger for each company
  • Preparing the complex Month End Reconciliations (e.g. Leases)
  • Reviewing Month End Reconciliations of the Assistant Accountant (e.g. Fixed Assets, Accruals etc)
  • Managing the Term Deposits Schedules
  • Managing the annual audit process in a timely and efficient manner. This will involve being the main contact with the external auditors, delegating tasks with the team, keeping up to date with all the requests.
  • Timely preparation and review of monthly BAS returns for GDN group and RGDA with the Assistant Accountant
  • Prepare the annual FBT return for submission within the ATO deadlines
  • Prepare the annual Franking Credit Returns for submission to the ATO

Essential Experience:

  • CA/CPA certification (or equivalent)
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Financial Accountant/senior Assistant Accountants
  • Experience with Payroll processing Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) skills, initiative and integrity
  • High energy/strong work ethic
